Pleasant Valley School District

Providing the education and resources for all students to reach their highest potential.

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! It is with great excitement that I welcome you to a new school year. I am thrilled to be here in Camarillo as part of the PVSD family. The Board of Trustees and I look forward to this year being one of innovation, fun, and excellence for all.

Building on the successes of our 21st century learning initiatives, three new Maker Spaces were installed over the summer at Rancho Rosal, La Mariposa, and Monte Vista. Our district now has a Maker Space at every campus. We also have grown our Chromebook program by going 1:1 for our 6-8 grade students. PVSD teachers were provided summer learning opportunities both in person and asynchronous, personalized content to strengthen 21st century teaching and learning.

As a district office, we exist to serve our sites. In order to remain connected to our purpose, campus staff will begin seeing the cabinet more regularly at schools. Personally, I have scheduled two days a week for campus visits and look forward to visiting all classrooms.

I am excited about what the future will bring. We will embark in a collaborative process of strategic planning later this year to establish commitments that coincide with our vision, mission and goals. Our students benefit when we as an educational community come together.

I truly wish everyone a wonderful, safe, productive year full of laughter, learning and student growth!
