  • PVSD Superintendent Search – Your Input Is Appreciated!

    The Pleasant Valley School District Board of Trustees would like to receive input from interested District staff, parents, students, and community members to help identify the professional skills, educational experience, and personal qualities as they consider candidates for the new PVSD Superintendent.  Several days have been scheduled for community members, parents, students and staff to personally meet with County Office representatives.  Please click on the schedule below to see the schedule of meetings.   • PVSD Superintendent Search Begins

    The Ventura County Office of Education has been selected to assist the Pleasant Valley School District Board of Trustees in their search for a new Superintendent.  Applications will be accepted from February 1 – March 7, 2016.

  • Registration Timeline for 2016-2017

    The Pleasant Valley School District has released the timeline for registration for the 2016-2017 school year.     The Camarillo Academic Olympics (CAO) is a program offered to our PVSD students (grades 4-8) every two years. CAO is designed to be fun for students, while providing them an opportunity to showcase their academic achievements.  Individual events include mathematics, science, English grammar, U.S. history, current events, speech, art, creative writing, geography, and world/California history. Along with the individual events, there is also the SuperQuiz competition. This Quiz provides students an opportunity to work together, developing teamwork and team spirit as well as an indepth knowledge of the year's topic. This is CAO's 18th year and your help is needed.   • Immunization Requirements Starting January 1, 2016:

    1. Parents or guardians of students in any school or child-care facility, whether public or private, will no longer be allowed to submit a personal belief exemption to a currently-required vaccine.
    2. Personal belief exemption submitted before January 1, 2016 to remain valid until a student reaches kindergarten or 7th

    PV Lions Club and PVSD Team Up to Offer Run

    The Camarillo-Somis Pleasant Valley Lions Club, in partnership with the Pleasant Valley School District, is proud to present our 17th Annual 5K, one mile Bananarama Run, and 1K Cub Run on Sunday, April 10, 2016. The day of health, fitness, and running gives runners three different races from which to choose. It will also include many wellness based vendors. The event will be held at the beautiful Camarillo Ranch House, and the 5k is one of the fastest 5k runs in Ventura County. To sign up and find more about this exciting event click here.

  • Wellness Meetings for the 2015-16 School Year

    The Pleasant Valley School District is committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle for our students. To send the right message and to help our students make good choices, teachers, staff, parents and students can all work together. Our Wellness Committee will again be meeting this year and anyone interested is encouraged to attend.  The meetings will be held at the Pleasant Valley School District office at 600 Temple Avenue.  They will begin at 11 a.m. on the following dates: October 8 and December 10, 2015 and February 11 and April 14, 2016.

  • PVSD 1:1 Learning 

    Today's learners are being challenged to think deeply in all subject areas, develop collaboration skills, and to demonstrate their learning in creative and complex ways. PVSD is committed to providing the best opportunities to students so that they can develop skills that will help them be successful in high school, college, and beyond. Additionally, the educational content of today's classroom is increasingly found online. To this end, PVSD will be providing a Chromebook to every 6th grade student for use at school and at home. Learn more here.

    National School Lunch/Breakfast Program: The online meal application is now available for the 2015/2016 school year. For faster processing please apply online. You may also obtain an application (one per household) from your child's school or at the PVSD District Office.   • LCAP Approved by County

    The Local Countrol Accountability Plan (LCAP) was recently approved by the Ventura County Office of Education. The LCAP outlines the instructional and financial goals for the Pleasant Valley School District. This plan was written using the input of staff, students, parents, and community members.   • Board Meetings

    TeamworkRegular Board meetings will be at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. Broadcasting will start at 6:00 p.m. on Channel 10 for Time Warner customers and on Channel 29 for Verizon FiOS customers. Agendas are posted the week of the Board meeting.     Special Board meetings are usually conducted at the District Office. Exact location of the meeting is indicated on the agenda.
